In a significant step towards economic empowerment, the government has allocated GH₵51.3 million as seed funding for the National Women’s Development Bank.

This initiative seeks to provide tailored business support to Muslim women, helping them establish and expand businesses for improved livelihoods.

This move is expected to stimulate entrepreneurship and create job opportunities within these communities.

On Hajj support, Mr. Atanga announced a reduction in Hajj fares from GH₵675,000 to GH₵662,000. Additionally, he highlighted the construction of a state-of-the-art permanent Hajj Village in Accra to provide dignified accommodation for pilgrims, ensuring a seamless and comfortable pilgrimage experience.

Addressing security concerns, the minister urged collective efforts to combat violent extremism and substance abuse among the youth.

He called on Muslim leaders to reinforce traditional communal security systems and promote moral values to safeguard the region’s peace and stability.

Mr. Atanga also reiterated the government’s dedication to peace, particularly in conflict-prone areas like Bawku.

He expressed gratitude to the Muslim community for their support in the recent elections and encouraged unity and adherence to the virtues of Ramadan.

The event, graced by religious leaders, traditional rulers, and members of the Muslim community, marked a day of reflection, gratitude, and celebration.
