GOIL CEO donates to Chief Imam in support of Ramadan

The Group Chief Executive and Managing Director of GOIL PLC, Mr. Edward Abambire Bawa, has paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Ousmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, to donate essential food items and fuel coupons in support of this year’s Ramadan.

The donation, which reflects GOIL’s long-standing commitment to corporate social responsibility, aims to assist the underprivileged who rely on the generosity of the Chief Imam and other benevolent individuals during the sacred period.

The items included bags of rice, cartons of cooking oil, milk, Milo, bottled and sachet water, and assorted drinks.

Presenting the items, Mr. Bawa expressed gratitude for the Chief Imam’s spiritual guidance and leadership.

He highlighted the significance of Ramadan as a period of reflection, sacrifice, and charity—values that align with the teachings of the Holy Prophet Mohammed.

In response, the Chief Imam, through his spokesperson Sheikh Armiyawo Shaibu, thanked GOIL for the gesture, emphasizing the importance of such support during Ramadan.

He noted that the donation would help provide sustenance for the less fortunate.

He also advised the GOIL CEO to serve the company with sincerity and a clear conscience. Special prayers were offered for Mr. Bawa’s successful tenure and the continued growth of GOIL PLC.
