Former Director-General of the National Service Authority (NSA), Osei Assibey Antwi, has been released by the National Investigation Bureau (NIB) after spending three days in detention.

According to Kumasi-based Pure FM, he was freed on the night of March 22, 2025, arriving at his Accra residence at 10:28 PM, where his family welcomed him. Upon his release, he reportedly said, “I haven’t experienced anything like this before.”

His detention was linked to an ongoing payroll fraud investigation involving the previous NSA leadership. The NIB had earlier detained the two deputy directors before inviting Osei Assibey for questioning.

Concerns over his health while in custody sparked public interest, with some reports suggesting pressure on authorities to ensure his well-being.

It remains unclear whether he will face further legal action as investigations continue.
