Despite his inability to secure re-election as the Member of Parliament for the Binduri Constituency, Abdullai Abanga has remained steadfast in his commitment to delivering much-needed development projects for the people of his area.
His dedication to improving the lives of his constituents is evident as he continues to see through projects that were initiated during his tenure.
Abanga’s relentless focus on community development remains unwavering, with several projects nearing completion and others already commissioned for public use by the District Assembly.
These initiatives, spanning multiple sectors such as potable water, healthcare, education, and sanitation, reflect his long-term vision for the constituency’s progress.
A Major Sanitation Boost at Bazua Market
One of the most significant projects recently commissioned is a state-of-the-art six-seater W/C toilet facility at Bazua Market.
Located in one of the largest and bustling trading centers in Binduri, Bazua Market has long grappled with inadequate sanitation facilities, forcing traders and residents to resort to open defecation.
The new facility, which includes a mechanized water source, comes at an estimated cost of nearly GHC 400,000.

It is expected to provide a sustainable solution to the market’s sanitation issues, improving hygiene and creating a healthier environment for traders and visitors alike.
During the commissioning ceremony, traders expressed profound relief and gratitude for the much-needed improvement in their working conditions.
One trader remarked, “We appreciate the former MP for his commitment and selfless support. This project means a lot to us, as we have struggled for years without a proper place to ease ourselves.”
A Step Towards Better Sanitation and Public Health
The District Deputy Coordinating Director, Mr. Kipo Alhassan, also underscored the importance of the new facility.
“This toilet will serve at least 400 people in the area daily. We urge the beneficiaries to maintain it well to ensure its long-term use,” he said.
Alhassan further commended Abanga for his continued efforts in enhancing the welfare of his constituents, even after his tenure as MP.
He also emphasized that the former MP’s initiatives set a strong precedent for future development, regardless of one’s political tenure.
“Such selfless efforts ensure that development continues even after political roles have ended,” Alhassan added.
Abdullai Abanga’s Unwavering Commitment
In an interview with the media, Abdullai Abanga reaffirmed his ongoing commitment to Binduri’s development.
“Livelihood empowerment is key to improving the well-being of my people. Despite my tenure as MP ending, I remain committed to supporting the constituency with the little resources I have,” he said.
Abanga also revealed plans for the construction of two additional toilet facilities, similar in capacity to the Bazua Market project, in other areas of the district.
These new facilities will each come at a cost of approximately GHC 400,000, further strengthening the area’s sanitation infrastructure.
Community Applauds the Efforts
The commissioning ceremony saw a large turnout of grateful community members, including youth, women, and elderly residents, all expressing their thanks for the new facility.
The chief of Bazua, Naaba Asuguru, took the opportunity to express his sincere appreciation to both the District Assembly and the former MP for their collaborative efforts.
“This project is a great relief for our people. We thank Hon. Abanga for his foresight and the Assembly for ensuring its completion,” Naaba Asuguru said.
