Prophet Kusi Boateng not detained by NIB – Aide dispels rumors

Ohene Mensah Boakye, an aide to Prophet Victor Kusi Boateng, has dismissed media reports suggesting that the Founder of Power Chapel Worldwide was detained by the National Investigations Bureau (NIB).

In a statement on Friday, Boakye clarified that while Prophet Kusi Boateng honored an invitation by the NIB on March 13, 2025, he was not held in custody.

“The prophet Victor Kusi Boateng is home. He was invited by the BNI yesterday. He went to answer his questions and then went peacefully to his home the same day. It was a very decent interrogation. He’s safe and sound,” he wrote on Facebook.

Reports circulating online had alleged that the preacher, who also serves as Secretary of the National Cathedral Board of Trustees, was detained over concerns about multiple identities.

The controversy traces back to 2023 when North Tongu MP, now Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, accused Kusi Boateng of possessing multiple passports under different names.

The latest NIB invitation has reignited public interest in the case, though officials have yet to comment on the matter.
