Strong winds rip off roof of Anaafo-Biisi Primary B school in Bongo

A rainstorm accompanied by strong winds has left Anaafo-Biisi Primary B School in ruins after it ripped off the roof of a three-classroom block on Monday, March 10, 2025.

The late-afternoon downpour, which lasted about 30 minutes, tore through the school located in the Bongo District of the Upper East Region, leaving classrooms exposed and learning materials soaked.

Fortunately, no casualties were recorded, as students had left for home before the storm hit.

Teachers and residents expressed concern over the situation, fearing it could disrupt academic activities if urgent repairs are not made.

“We are appealing to the government, NGOs, and well-meaning individuals to come to our aid so the children can return to a safe learning environment,” a teacher at the school stated.
