Ghana’s Parliament has announced a significant re-composition of its committees, introducing fresh leadership to critical oversight bodies.
Abena Osei-Asare has been appointed Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), succeeding James Avedzi, the long-serving former Ketu North MP.
The PAC plays a pivotal role in scrutinizing government expenditures and promoting fiscal accountability.
Bolgatanga Central MP Isaac Adongo, known for his expertise in economic and fiscal affairs, will now lead the Finance Committee.
Adongo’s leadership is expected to bring rigorous analysis to national budget reviews, tax policies, and key financial matters.
Kwaku Agyemang Kwarteng has been named Chairman of the Budget Committee, where he will oversee the formulation and execution of the national budget.
The new appointments are part of Parliament’s strategic move to enhance efficiency and accountability in its legislative functions.
