The Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu, Atta Issah, has brought relief to the Sagnarigu Township by commissioning a solar-powered mechanized community water supply center.

The project, funded by the Qatar Charity Foundation, aims to alleviate the persistent water scarcity in the municipal capital and serve the Bagabaga Primary and Junior High Schools.

The water supply center was commissioned on Sunday, March 2, 2025, by the Sagnarigu Constituency Treasurer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abdulai Imorow Gong, on behalf of the MP.

NDC Constituency Communications Officer, Abdulai Mohammed Amin, highlighted the project’s impact, noting that it would significantly reduce the long distances residents, particularly women, previously had to travel for clean drinking water.

The project fulfills a campaign promise by the MP, with more water initiatives planned across the constituency.

Mr. Amin expressed gratitude to the Qatar Charity Foundation and urged continued support for local development projects.

For years, residents of Sagnarigu have faced irregular water supply despite the Ghana Water Company’s main reservoir for Tamale being located in the area.
