Jamaican reggae icons arrive in Ghana for Kuchoko Roots Festival

Jamaican reggae stars Kenyatta Hill, Duane Stephenson, George Nooks, and others have arrived in Ghana ahead of the much-anticipated Kuchoko Roots Festival, organized by Blakk Rasta.

The festival is set to take place on Saturday, March 8, at the La Pleasure Beach in Accra.

This year’s edition of the annual event will feature over 15 Ghanaian and international artists, providing a platform for African reggae music and giving young talents the opportunity to showcase their skills.

The lineup includes Ghanaian acts such as Knii Lante, Osagyefo, Konkarah Jahvybz, Ton A Hope, JahWi, Aklerh, Ras Appiah Levi, and more.

The international contingent will be led by Kenyatta Hill, son of legendary Jamaican reggae artist Joseph Hill (Culture), alongside fellow Jamaican performers George Nooks and Duane Stephenson.

Blakk Rasta, the headline act, will perform with his Herbalist Band and promised to captivate the audience with hits like Barak Obama, My Africa Queen, Serwaa Akoto, Natural Africa Mystic, and Bola Bird.

The organizers highlighted the festival as a unique experience for fans, urging Ghanaians to attend and enjoy a night filled with powerful music and conscious lyrics.
