In a world where kindness often takes a backseat, one young journalist is proving that small deeds can indeed create a big impact.
Meet Anaba Gloria, a Level 200 student at the Ghana Institute of Journalism, whose passion for storytelling extends beyond the newsroom into the heart of rural communities.
Through her Atubiga Foundation, she is changing lives, one act of kindness at a time.
A Foundation Born from Compassion
Unlike many organizations that start with grand fundraising campaigns, the Atubiga Foundation was born from something simple: an innate desire to help.
Named after her local name, Atubiga, the foundation is a testament to Gloria’s belief that giving is not about wealth or status but about willingness and compassion.
“For me, philanthropy wasn’t a decision; it was a way of life,” she shares. “I wanted to show young people that you don’t need to be rich to make a difference.”

Empowering the Forgotten
Atubiga Foundation focuses primarily on aged women, especially widows who have been abandoned by society. Gloria’s inspiration came from witnessing the struggles of elderly women in her community—many of whom had been sidelined despite their immense wisdom and skills.
But she didn’t stop there. Her foundation has also:
- Supported teenage mothers, ensuring they receive care until childbirth.
- Paid hospital bills for individuals in dire need, including a woman at the Sunyani Teaching Hospital.
- Provided monthly assistance to elderly women, covering food, healthcare, and other essentials.
- Worked on securing shelter for a homeless widow.
And the impact keeps growing.
TikTok: A Digital Game-Changer
In an era of digital storytelling, TikTok has become one of Gloria’s most powerful tools. By sharing her philanthropic work online, she has connected with a massive audience, inspiring countless others to join her mission.
“The support I’ve received has been overwhelming,” she says. “People from all over the world now encourage and contribute to what we do.”
Looking Ahead: A Future of Greater Impact
For Gloria, Atubiga Foundation is just getting started. Her dream? To expand the foundation’s reach, touching more lives and making philanthropy a movement for young people.
Her message is clear: “You don’t need to have much to give. Just start where you are, with what you have.”
And with that mindset, she’s proving that one person—armed with kindness and a smartphone—can change the world.
