A five-month-old baby girl was killed in Bawku after attackers forcibly took her from her mother and smashed her to the ground.
The mother, who had gone out to trade, was reportedly trailed by the assailants, brutally assaulted, and had her child snatched before the fatal act was committed.
This killing adds to the escalating violence in Bawku and along the Bolgatanga-Tamale highway, bringing the death toll to 55 since the conflict flared up in October 2024.
Despite security efforts to restore order and safeguard travelers, armed attacks persist, deepening fear among residents and commuters.
