OSP: Ofori-Atta is a suspect, not a person of interest

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has clarified that former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta is a suspect in an ongoing investigation, not just a person of interest.

Sammy Darko, Head of Communications and Strategy at the OSP, made this clarification to counter what he described as misinformation.

The OSP declared Ofori-Atta wanted and a fugitive on Wednesday, February 12. Speaking on The Point of View on Channel One TV, Darko dismissed claims that Ofori-Atta was merely a person of interest.

“In law, there is a wide and big gap between a suspect and a person of interest. Ken Ofori-Atta is a suspect,” he stated.

He also stressed that the OSP operates strictly within legal limits.
