Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has revealed that the passport office holds over 75,000 unclaimed passports.
Speaking on Accra-based TV3, he stated his plan to audit these passports and contact their owners. To facilitate delivery, he intends to introduce a courier service.
Addressing the performance of ambassadors and high commissioners, Ablakwa emphasized accountability.
He announced that envoys will have key performance indicators (KPIs) and will submit monthly reports.
“Ambassadors who fail to meet KPIs will be removed. There will be biannual reviews, but underperformers will be queried even before then,” he said.
