Akamugri, a long-serving political figure, previously held the position of Upper East Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for several years.

His tenure earned him the nickname “Mugabe of the NDC” due to his extended leadership in the party.

His appointment as regional minister has raised expectations among residents, who hope his experience and political influence will attract investment and foster development.

As he assumes office, stakeholders and citizens will be watching closely to see how he implements his ambitious vision for the region.
