Ghanaian reggae icon and radio personality Blakk Rasta has announced the 8th edition of the annual Kuchoko Roots Festival, set to take place on March 8, 2025 at the La Pleasure Beach, Accra.
The highly anticipated reggae event will feature international reggae stars Kenyatta Hill, Duane Stephenson, and George Nooks, alongside top Ghanaian acts.
Since its maiden edition on March 7, 2015, at La Pleasure Beach, the Kuchoko Roots Festival has consistently celebrated reggae music, drawing top artists from across Africa and beyond.
Past editions have seen performances from Ras Kuuku, Kwame Bediako, Felix Bell, Osagyefo, Ismael Isaac (Ivory Coast), Ras Kimono, Rhymzo, and the legendary Majek Fashek (Nigeria).
With the inclusion of Kenyatta Hill, son of the late Joseph Hill of Culture, Jamaican singer Duane Stephenson, and veteran reggae-gospel artist George Nooks, this year’s festival promises a spectacular showcase of roots reggae, live band performances, and cultural celebration.
Blakk Rasta, a pioneer of Kuchoko music—a fusion of reggae and African rhythms—has remained a strong advocate for reggae culture in Ghana.
The upcoming 8th edition of the Kuchoko Roots Festival is expected to draw massive crowds and further solidify Ghana’s place on the global reggae map.
