NDC must brace for minority resistance – Dr. Draman Warns

Dr. Rasheed Draman, Executive Director of the African Center for Parliamentary Affairs (ACEPA), has cautioned the National Democratic Congress (NDC) about potential challenges to their parliamentary strategy.

Speaking on Starr FM, Dr. Draman noted that despite the NDC’s numerical advantage in Parliament, they could face significant resistance from the Minority.

“The NDC must be cautious. They may have the numbers, but if they are not vigilant, they could be caught off guard. This Minority has the capacity to frustrate government business and disrupt parliamentary processes, even if they don’t achieve outright success,” he stated.

His comments come amidst heightened parliamentary tensions, as the newly appointed Majority Leader navigates early challenges in his role.

Reflecting on the Majority Leader’s position, Dr. Draman remarked, “It’s only his second day in office, and he’s already facing this situation. It remains to be seen how much of this he can manage and how patient he will be.”
