Edward Abambire Bawa assumes role as acting CEO of GNPC

Edward Abambire Bawa has officially taken up the position of Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), the country’s flagship oil and gas institution.

In a statement, Bawa expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead GNPC, emphasizing his commitment to advancing the corporation’s mission of sustainably managing Ghana’s petroleum resources for national benefit.

In his inaugural remarks, Bawa outlined his vision to position GNPC as a global leader in the oil and gas industry while enhancing its contributions to Ghana’s development.

“My primary focus is to build on GNPC’s mandate of sustainably exploring, developing, and managing our petroleum resources for the benefit of all Ghanaians,” he stated.

Bawa stressed the importance of fostering strong partnerships to attract investments and expand the nation’s resource base.

“By working together, we can enhance exploration and production, create opportunities for value addition, and drive growth not only for GNPC but also for Ghana’s economy,” he noted.

The new Acting CEO also highlighted the need to align GNPC’s operations with global energy trends by adopting innovative technologies and upholding high standards of governance.
