Vincent Ekow Assafuah, Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, has warned the government against dismissing employees added to the public payroll after December 7, 2024.
He threatened legal action should such dismissals occur, describing the move as unconstitutional.
Speaking on Adom TV on January 24, 2025, Assafuah revealed that the Chief of Staff had directed government agencies to provide a list of individuals recruited after the specified date.
He argued that many of these recruits began working in October 2024, but delays in processing led to their official inclusion after December 7.
“Just because their payroll inclusion came after December 7 doesn’t justify their dismissal. If this happens, I will take the matter to court to ensure their rights are upheld,” Assafuah stated.
