Mahama orders ministers to declare assets

President John Dramani Mahama has mandated all his appointees to declare their assets, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

The directive was announced at the swearing-in ceremony for newly appointed ministers at the Jubilee House in Accra on Wednesday.

The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, will supervise the process to ensure compliance.

“I expect all of you to begin the process of declaring your assets,” President Mahama said.

“The Chief of Staff will announce the deadline for submission to the Auditor-General. I wish you success in your duties and look forward to working together.”

Key Expectations for Ministers

The President outlined specific targets for some appointees:

Energy Minister, John Jinapor: Tasked with ensuring a stable and efficient power supply to drive national development.

Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson: Charged with stabilizing the economy by reducing inflation, addressing public debt, and strengthening the cedi.

Haruna Iddrisu – Education

Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson – Finance

John Jinapor – Energy and Green Transition

Dr. Dominic Ayine – Attorney General and Justice

Governs Kwame Agbodza – Roads and Highways

Meanwhile, the Appointments Committee continues vetting nominees to complete the ministerial team.
