Central Region NDC footsoldiers thank Mahama for strategic appointments

The Central Regional footsoldiers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have expressed their profound gratitude to former President John Dramani Mahama for his strategic appointments and initiatives that have uplifted the region.

The group highlighted their appreciation for the selection of Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as Mr. Mahama’s running mate in the 2020 elections, which led to her becoming Ghana’s first female Vice President.

They also commended him for nominating Mr. Ekow Panyin Adumoah as Central Regional Minister and appointing Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Member of Parliament for Ajumako Enyan Essiam, as Finance Minister.

Speaking on behalf of the region’s 23 constituency organizers, Mr. Joseph Kojo Mensah, Organizer for the Ajumako Enyan Essiam Constituency, applauded the appointments of Felix Ofosu-Kwakye as Acting Presidential Spokesperson and Nana Ama Browne Klutse as CEO of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Mr. Mensah emphasized that these appointments reflect Mahama’s commitment to empowering talents from the Central Region.

He urged the appointees to champion development projects that address the region’s infrastructure gaps.

Key projects identified include the revival of the Komenda Sugar Factory, operationalization of the Fisheries University in Anomabo, enhancement of the Elmina Fish Processing Plant—the second largest in West Africa—and bolstering Nursing and Teacher Training Colleges at Ajumako Biseasi.

He expressed optimism that these projects, once implemented, would create employment opportunities for the youth, tackling the region’s growing unemployment challenges.
