He emphasized their satisfaction with his new status, which has been elevated by the President of Ghana.

Responding to critics who argue his role as a Muslim contradicts Islamic teachings on gambling, Abdul-Salam dismissed the claims as unfounded.

He attributed the backlash to individuals with ulterior motives who had desired the position.

“I was selected based on competence, and I am committed to supporting the President in achieving his goals for the nation,” he asserted.

Meanwhile, Alhaji Ustaz Ahmed Seidu, Executive Secretary to the Ashanti Regional Chief Imams, has cautioned Abdul-Salam against accepting the role.

He argued that Islam strictly prohibits gambling and that leading the NLA conflicts with Islamic principles.

“According to the Quran, gambling is haram. It would be inappropriate for a Muslim, especially an Alhaji, to engage in such activities. It is an insult to the family for them to benefit from gambling proceeds,” he stated.

Despite the controversy, Abdul-Salam remains resolute, highlighting his commitment to delivering in his new role.
