African leaders are worshipped like demigods – Blakk Rasta

Renowned Ghanaian musician and radio host, Blakk Rasta, has taken a bold stance against the unchecked powers of African presidents, describing them as being treated like “demigods.”

Speaking on his “Urban Blend” show on 3FM, Blakk Rasta delivered a scathing critique of African leadership and governance.

“Presidents in Africa are revered more than God in some countries,” he lamented, emphasizing the need for constitutional reforms to limit executive overreach.

He backed his argument by referencing former President John Mahama’s call to curb ex-gratia benefits for government officials, commending his pledge as a step in the right direction.

“Mahama understands the allure of wealth, yet he’s ready to give up ex-gratia. It’s bold, but he must remain committed,” Blakk Rasta advised.

The outspoken host also slammed the government’s failed promises, particularly the “Year of Roads” initiative, which he labeled a “monumental failure.”

Sharing his own experience driving from Accra to Wa, he painted a grim picture of pothole-ridden roads, dust-filled air, and broken-down vehicles.

“Rural areas like Chich are completely neglected—cemeteries outnumber essential amenities like water. It’s disgraceful!” he added.
