Haruna Iddrisu promises better conditions for teachers—but within economic limits

Education Minister Designate, Haruna Iddrisu, has pledged to enhance the welfare of Ghanaian teachers but emphasized that these improvements will depend on the state of the economy.

“We will improve the conditions of teachers to the extent that the economy can do,” he stated during his vetting on January 20, 2025.

He also outlined plans to prioritize access, quality, and relevance in tertiary education, with a commitment to expanding infrastructure to support these goals.
