Nigerian socialite Kelly Kosi has shared her remarkable story on the Honest Brunch podcast, hosted by Nedu, Deity Cole, and Ezinne. In a candid conversation, she opened up about her tumultuous journey from being a pastor’s wife to reclaiming her independence.
Kelly revealed that her marriage began under controversial circumstances. She married a pastor just a day after her 17th birthday, had her first child at 18, and her second by 19. By age 20, the marriage had ended.
The relationship started when Kelly’s foster mother gave her contact information to a pastor. Kelly recounted how the pastor claimed to have felt “goosebumps” after touching her, which he interpreted as a divine sign that she was his destined wife.
Within months, Kelly moved out of her foster mother’s home to live with him. “I wasn’t pregnant or anything,” she clarified, emphasizing how quickly events unfolded. They married within four to five months.
Kelly’s ex-husband, who was 31 at the time, isolated her from her foster mother, insisting she cut ties. “He made me stop talking to her,” she recalled, expressing regret over losing that connection.
When the marriage ended, Kelly struggled to navigate the legal complexities of divorce. She admitted she didn’t even understand how the process worked and only learned the marriage had been declared null and void through her lawyer.
Reflecting on her experience, Kelly described the confusion and challenges of being so young and unprepared for the life she had been thrust into. “I was just 20 and trying to figure out my life,” she said.
