Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, is set to arrive in The Gambia today, January 17, 2025, for a one-day working visit aimed at deepening ties between the two countries.
A statement from the Gambian government confirmed the visit, noting that President Mahama will meet his Gambian counterpart, President Adama Barrow, to discuss strategies for enhancing Ghana-Gambia bilateral relations.
The official statement reads:
“Media Release
Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama to Visit The Gambia
The Office of the President hereby informs the public that H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, will embark on a day’s working visit to The Gambia tomorrow at 11:45 A.M.
President Barrow will receive the visiting Head of State at the Banjul International Airport and later host him at a State luncheon.
The two Heads of State will hold a tête-à-tête meeting to discuss ways to further strengthen The Gambia-Ghana bilateral relations.”
President Mahama is expected to return to Ghana later today.
